-OUR LEADERSHIP
Heero Lim Founder and President
Mercer Island High School, 12th grade
“ Hello! My name is Heero Lim, and I'm the Founder and current President of the Creative Arts Student Society, or CASS. I enjoy taking photos as a hobby and going out to theatres every weekend to watch movies with my family. I have been swimming for over 10 years, and I am in the school swim team. My journey with art began early, sparking my passion back in the second grade, and I've been happily pursuing it ever since. The motivation behind creating CASS, however, is deeply rooted in fostering meaningful intergenerational connections, specifically for immigrant students. Many of us rarely get the chance to regularly visit or spend time with our own grandparents. I realized there was a profound opportunity to bridge this gap, allowing students to learn from, connect with, and share experiences with elderly individuals in our community. That's why CASS focuses on facilitating visits to local nursing homes, where we use the power of collaborative art to connect with the residents. Through these creative sessions, we aim to ensure immigrant students get to enjoy the warmth and wisdom of a grandparent-like relationship, making beautiful art and memories together.”
ISABELLE CHUNG Vice President
Mercer Island High School, 11th grade
“ Hi! I’m Isabelle. I love art, meeting new people, and finding creative ways to see the world. To me, art is all about connection — capturing everyday moments, special places, and the people who make them meaningful. I love exploring creative ideas and working with different mediums to bring those moments to life.
I teach Korean and art to elementary students at UBKS and lead the Odle Middle School Art Club. Meeting seniors and hearing their stories has been incredibly valuable, and connecting with people from all generations has become one of the most meaningful parts of my life. I’ve played trombone since 5th grade and am currently part of the MIHS Marching Band. I also play on the MIHS Girls Golf Team.
As Vice President of the CASS Club, I enjoy finding new ways to connect with our community and make a difference through creativity. I’m excited to help CASS grow as a bridge between art and the people around us!”
CHRISTIAN MIN Vice President
Mercer Island High School, 11th grade
“ Hi, My name is Christian Min and I’m currently a junior at Mercer Island High School. I spent much of my elementary school years in Korea and Japan, where I had the opportunity to experience different cultures and perspectives.
I’ve been playing tennis since I was four years old and I’m proud to be part of the varsity tennis team at MIHS. Beyond tennis, I enjoy spending time with friends, playing board games, and taking photos of nature- especially moments that capture peaceful or beautiful scenery.
Through my volunteering at senior center, I’ve gained meaningful insights and life lessons from the elderly. Their wisdom and stories have truly broadened my perspective and taught me the value of experience and empathy.”
ASHELY AHN Communication Director

These experiences have taught me teamwork and brought me lots of joyful memories.
I also care deeply about community service. I volunteer at the senior home (CASS), Odle Middle School, Belred, and Bellevue Youth Link. Through these, I have learned the importance of giving back and connecting with new people.
In my free time, I spend time and go out with my friends. I make sure to balance my school life while having fun and helping my community in every way I can. My interests in art, music, service, and friendship show my commitment to growth and making a positive impact in my community. ”
